The participation of Niftysphere Institute represents a broader vision of using fashion as a medium of cultural exchange. By researching, designing and presenting traditional Russian attire, Pakistani students were given an opportunity to engage with another country’s cultural heritage while developing practical skills in fashion research, design development, craftsmanship and professional presentation.
This initiative also reflects Niftysphere Institute’s commitment to skill-based creative education, providing students with opportunities to take their classroom knowledge into real cultural and professional environments.
The collaboration further demonstrates how Pakistan’s creative institutions can contribute to cultural diplomacy and international cultural relations. Through fashion, students and emerging designers can become cultural ambassadors, creating meaningful connections between communities while learning to appreciate and represent diverse cultural identities.
The Russian Embassy had previously highlighted that Niftysphere Institute would present Russian costumes as part of the National Day cultural showcase, in the context of broader efforts to strengthen Pakistan–Russia cultural cooperation. PID
Niftysphere Institute of Arts & Design continues to promote the idea that fashion is not merely about clothing — it can be a language of heritage, identity, diplomacy, education and cultural exchange.
Through initiatives such as this, the Institute aims to empower its students to use their creative skills to represent cultures professionally, build international connections and contribute to Pakistan’s growing creative economy and cultural diplomacy landscape.
