PRESS RELEASE
Islamabad, Pakistan — 27 August 2026:
Niftysphere Institute of Arts & Design presented Culture Color – Season 5 at Serena Hotel Islamabad, bringing together fashion, cultural heritage, creative education, youth development and cultural diplomacy on one platform. The event used fashion and artistic expression as a means of presenting Pakistan’s diverse cultural identity to a wider national and international audience. The Europe Today
The central cultural theme of the event was “Rang-e-Balochistan,” through which the Institute highlighted the rich heritage of Balochistan. Students from the Fashion Designing Department translated traditional Balochi aesthetics, craftsmanship and cultural elements into contemporary fashion, demonstrating how heritage can be preserved while being creatively reinterpreted for modern audiences. The Europe Today
Culture Color – Season 5 was designed around the broader concept of culture export — using fashion, design and creative talent to communicate Pakistan’s identity beyond its borders.
Rather than presenting cultural heritage only as something to be preserved, the event demonstrated how traditional craftsmanship, textiles, embroidery, regional aesthetics and storytelling can become part of contemporary creative industries and contribute to Pakistan’s international cultural presence.
The Balochistan segment particularly demonstrated how a region’s cultural identity can be transformed into a creative fashion narrative capable of engaging international audiences.
The event also provided a platform for cultural exchange and dialogue, bringing together creative professionals, students, cultural stakeholders and diplomatic representatives.
Through such initiatives, Niftysphere aims to demonstrate the role that fashion, art and creative education can play in strengthening people-to-people connections and creating opportunities for cultural dialogue between Pakistan and the international community.
The Institute’s broader Culture Color initiative has previously been positioned as a platform connecting fashion, heritage, youth development and cultural diplomacy, with students participating as representatives of Pakistan’s creative and cultural identity. The Europe Today
A key objective of the event was to give students an opportunity to move beyond classroom learning and experience a professional creative environment.
Students were involved in the conceptualization, design development and presentation of fashion collections, allowing them to develop practical skills in design, craftsmanship, styling, presentation, teamwork and event participation.
The Balochistan collection was specifically developed and presented by students of the Institute’s Six-Month Certificate Course, providing emerging designers with a professional platform to showcase their creativity and understanding of cultural heritage. The Europe Today
This approach reflects Niftysphere’s emphasis on skill-based education, where students are encouraged to connect academic learning with real-world creative and professional opportunities.
Women’s empowerment also remains an important dimension of the Institute’s creative education vision. By providing women and young designers with access to professional training, creative platforms and opportunities to present their work, the Institute seeks to strengthen their confidence, skills and participation in the creative economy.
Culture Color therefore served not simply as a fashion presentation, but as a platform where emerging talent could gain visibility and experience while contributing to the representation of Pakistan’s cultural identity.
The event carried a broader message: Pakistan’s culture can become an important part of its creative economy and international cultural engagement.
Through fashion and design, Pakistani students and emerging designers can communicate stories of heritage, craftsmanship and regional diversity to audiences beyond Pakistan.
Culture Color – Season 5 therefore represented an intersection of culture, fashion, education, women empowerment, youth development, diplomacy and creative enterprise.
The event demonstrated Niftysphere Institute’s vision of preparing a new generation of Pakistani designers who can not only understand their cultural roots, but also reinterpret them creatively and present them confidently on national and international platforms.
In this way, “Rang-e-Balochistan” became more than a fashion collection — it became a statement of cultural identity, creative education and the potential of Pakistan’s heritage as a form of cultural export. The Europe Today
